Our Lemon Oil is safe for the face. Steam distilled lemon essential oil is produced using heat and water vapor, which naturally removes nearly all furanocoumarins (including bergapten). These compounds are what make cold-pressed citrus oils phototoxic, meaning they can increase the risk of skin irritation or dark spots when exposed to sunlight.

Lemon Oil is also the least used oil in for formula and is far below safe recommendations.
